The Communist Party and British Politics

The Communist Party put up its first candidate for the House of Commons in 1922 and campaigned in every election after that. Fear of communism in the Soviet Union and the part played by the Labour Party in representing the working class meant that the nationwide support for the Communist Party was always very low.
